Ready, Willing and ABLE
1st December '08 -Amidst all the gloom and the depression surrounding the construction industry at the moment, it is pleasing to report that Alumet from
Southam in Warwickshire is still investing in innovation.
At the Growing Business Awards in London last week Alumet scooped the New Product of The Year Award for their revolutionary ABLE bomb-blast resistant unitised facade system.
The awards - run by the CBI, are designed to recognise innovation and entrepreneurial spirit amongst Britain's business community.
Alumet's ABLE Facade System (AFS), a lightweight pre-glazed wall, is used as an alternative to reinforced concrete to protect the inhabitants and equipment inside the building against bomb-blasts.
13th November '08 - Alumet finalists at OSC awards
Alumet were finalists in the OSC (Offsite Contruction Magazine) Awards in Birmigham on the 28th Oct.
The company were finalist in the 'Best Use of Steel' catagory for their bomb-blast resistant ABLE Facade System, but lost out on the top spot to The Moor Car Park project.
